1 down, many to go

So I DID get out and try out my new jacket!!  Monday after work it was slightly drizzly, so I threw on my jacket and a hat and set off.  I wish I'd taken a picture.  I was quite the sight!  Hot pink long sleeve shirt (the kind that slips over your hands with the thumb holes).  On top of that was my bright yellow (green??) jacket, and then a hat in a different shade of green.  I looked like the Neon Queen from the 80's (which is rapidly coming into fashion!).

But ... the more important thing, I ran AAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDD I used my earphone (yes, just one, I don't believe two are safe).  To be perfectly honest I actually quite liked listening to music.  It kept me well distracted from the running part.

I may have mislead some of you in my last post.  I haven't actually signed up for a race, I've just been thinking about it.  I do have a race in mind, but I don't think that one is going to work out due to logistics.  For now I'll just be keeping my eyes open and if something comes up that I find interesting I'll sign up.  The most important thing is I'm going to keep running now!  The hiatus has to come to an end.

Tonight I have Zumba (which I freaking LOVE!).  If I could afford to do this 4 or 5 days a week I totally would.  There is a small time gap between from when I get off work and when Zumba starts.  Normally I waste that time with a little shopping or something.  Tonight I'm going to grab a treadmill and do a short run before class starts.  Gotta keep this going.

The hardest part is starting or getting back into something. It's smooth sailing from then on out ;)

I love/hate zumba... I feel like a total idiot but it sure is fun and an excellent workout!

They have Zumba in my office building twice a week every week for $5 a session and I never go. Call me crazy but I was always so spastic in aerobics classes I just don't want to embarass myself and bring the class down :P

Glad you are getting your groove back!

I wish u took a photo - so now we need a re- run so u can take a photo!
I tried Zumba 3x and hated it. Maybe the teacher who I felt never taught the moves, just danced the routine and u had to follow. Yes, after a month of her classes u would know the routine, but I don't have the patience of bad teaching, to me as instructor it's all about knowing how to break the moves down and building it up to we're u want it to go....there was clearly no breaking the moves down. So any love for Zumba died in those classes.

Woooooooooohoooooooooo she ran!

I have some Zumba DVD's and I love it too. You do sweat but it doesn't feel like a workout because of the dance moves.

Yup...the 80's are coming back. I wish I were more impressed with the clothing from back then :(

But good for you for running! i am working to get back into it after several months off. I blogged yesterday about my first run in four months. It was awful. But i am determined to get back into it!

I've been dying to try Zumba! It looks like so much fun! Maybe I will add it as cross-training.

And I totally get it about getting back into it. Sometimes the logistics are the hardest part - especially with teenagers :)
