June Goals

June is upon us.  I am in desperate need of some goals and some focus.  After looking back over old posts, in the search for motivation and inspiration, I came across something that ironically I did last year in June.

Yep, it's that time again!

Here's the lowdown:

  • 30 consecutive days of doing something active, everyday, for the month of June
  • minimum 30 minutes per day
  • must include a variety of  running, biking, walking, weights, and hopefully some hiking (if weather agrees)
  • minimum 50 miles running

In addition to this, I need to make some changes in my diet.  So, for the month of June I'm imposing a ban on the following trouble/trigger foods I've been struggling with:

  • pretzels
  • chips
  • nachos
  • cookies
  • brownies (or any form of cake/squares)
  • candies
  • chocolate bars

Normally I would say that such foods are OK in moderation, but moderation has not been a key word for me lately.  I need to change these nasty habits that have evolved!  I made a few minor changes in May, which is leaving me feeling better, but I need to do a lot more to see changes.

Here's to June being healthy & active!

I hear you on the moderation thing. I am not doing so well with that. Good luck with your June goals.

Great idea to bring back the 30 day challenge!! Good luck!

When I start to struggle with moderation, I need to go cold turkey too. In fact, that's where I am as of today! Be strong!

Remember this from last year. Want a partner in crime? At least for the activity goal?

I've got a three week vacation coming up in June so changes are big I will be eating a bit more every now and then.

I will mention the 30 day challenge on my Wednesday post.

It's good to see the fighter in you back Heidi.

You can do this....its so do able....I know you have the fire in your belly to do all things you set your mind to.
Remember...YOU ARE MY RUNNING QUEEN, and even with these life struggles, and trust me I know these are real, you will find it again....
So glad you have given yourself these goals...goal settings are important to me as well...I need a goal....
I find I need one rest day a week....so if not for that I would do this challenge as well...as June is going to be a tough month for me with my daughter and brother visiting...and going to Berlin....#
Cant wait to follow your journey through June...You are going to keep me smiling with satisfaction...I KNOW IT!!

I love your 30 days of being active! And I hope that I can join in the fun! :) You are going to rock June! Woo hoo! And that is great that you were able to check out those free LuLu yoga classes. Maybe sometime you can make one work for ya...though I agree drivin 30 mins is kind of far for a free class. LOL.

Oh good goals! I can't wait to see how June turns out for you. I know you'll do well. I think it's a good idea t eliminate trigger foods once in awhile - get your body to stop craving them.
