Sunny Days ... Keeping those clouds away

Oh my what a beautiful weekend.  Sun - FINALLY!  I'd almost bet that 50% of people around here got some degree of a sunburn this weekend (yes, that would include me).  Our bodies are not used to this bright stuff.  You just had to get out in it as much as possible.  To quote Allan from Two & A Half Men .... "Hey! When the bar is only open nine months a decade you drink 'til you puke! ...and then you keep drinking!"

Friday my legs were feeling the runs from the previous two days.  So I went on a nice long walk.  Walked through the area where my Grandparents lived when I was growing up.  It's only about a 10 min walk away, but I haven't been by there in many years.  Quite nostalgic.

Saturday was a busy day.  In the morning my daughter and I went out and got her a bunny.  I'll have to get some pictures up of the little guy.  While I was originally quite opposed to her getting one, he sure is a cutie and it's kind of neat having him.  He's already starting to show some personality.  Saturday was Game 2 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs so I was glued to the TV watching our Vancouver Canucks scoop up a narrow win.  Go Canucks Go!!!!  I did manage to squeeze in a 30 min walk though, and did a ton of housework.  Also managed to lay out in the glorious sunshine for a short while.  Felt SOOOO good!

Sunday we took the family to watch the drag races.  Was fun for a while, but a long day.  I would have happily left earlier, but, it was still nice to just hang out and relax in the sun.  Afterwards though I NEEDED to move, so took the bike out for a nice long ride.  Sure can cover a lot of area in a short while as compared to running.

I feel like I'm doing a fairly good job on mixing up my activities so far.  And eating has been very good!  Even though the family had two bags of chips on Sunday, I stayed out of them.  My only regret was not bringing enough water.  I brought a large bottle, but it was so hot and it wasn't enough.  I wasn't spending $3 on a small bottle of water, so felt a bit dehydrated last night.  Trying to catch up today.

It's been a great week, I've been doing everything right.  Now just waiting for my body to catch up and show a little reward on the scale.  Even if it's not showing there (YET!), I am feeling better.  As long as I keep at it, it will come. I'm confident.

Jun 1- 2.5 mile run + walking
Jun 2- 2.6 mile run + walking
Jun 3 - 75 min walk
Jun 4 - 30 min walk
Jun 5 - 75 min biking

You sound much happier these days Heidi - great to hear!

It's sort of funny to me that it's been so sunny in Moscow (and until today, quite hot) as compared to a lot of North America over the past few weeks. I've always thought of Russia as being much colder than Canada...and this spring has been the complete opposite. Very strange!

You're really mixing it up with your workouts. The scale is bound to show some movement with all that activity and clean eating.

What's your bunny's name?

I hate how much they charge for water at events! It's extortionate.

Glad you had such a nice weekend!

Sun!!!!!! beautiful sun....I think you have stolen it away from us....we've had two humid but overcast days....I so want the sun back by the time my daughter and brother arrive for their visit...

Well done on the walks when your legs felt tired...I must remember that its okay to walk ~ some how I feel pressured to run if I go out...

Fantastic that you 7 days into your challenge and going strong...I have no doubt you going to finished this challenge being successful.

You are doing great Heidi and I agree that you mix up your activity very well.

Your weekend sounds great, you deserved to get some sunshine as you haven't had that much yet.

Look forward to the pics of the bunny.
