♥ Steel Cut Oats ♥

Recently I FINALLY got around to trying Steel Cut Oats.  I've heard so many good things about them.  I had the package for a while.  Had put off making them because they do take 20-25 minutes to cook.  BUT .... I make them one morning, then have breakfast for the next 3 days.  They only take a minute or two to reheat in the microwave and they taste just as good as if they were made fresh.

They taste SO much more substantial than even regular oats.  At this point I don't think I could even eat packaged instant oats anymore.  Mush - yuck!

My favourite thing to do is to add a bit of brown sugar, a good 1/2 cup of chopped fruit and if it's super hot I add a splash of milk.  Seriously I could eat this for EVERY meal EVERY day.  Soooooo good!  Sooooo worth the effort.

***REMINDER***

Tomorrow (Sunday April 11th) is Heidi's Springtastic 10K!

I wasn't able to enter a 10K race this month, so I've made my own.  I've mapped out my route and will post a recap afterwards.

Though these past two weeks have been severly lacking in training, so I have no idea what to expect.

Good luck to all those running with me (heehee)

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Heidi

Wonder if that Steel oats is like our Jungle Oats...not the instant kind and takes a while to cook...I'm eating the instant at the moment as Sarah sent me two boxes...

Good luck on the run today ( Sunday ) I'm going to gym later to run but think the time I have ( as going with hubby ) it will only be a 7km which is better than nothing.

Yesterday I had a weird day...I ate a slab of chocolate...

Yeah! I did your springtastic 10K this morning! But I suppose you still have to go as we have a time difference. Good luck on your run!

I agree, I don't think I could go back to eating instant oatmeal again.

Hope your run went great!
